The Best Career Growth Advice
When life gets stressful and there’s too much going on, I sometimes think back to lessons I learned while practicing martial arts.
One of my favorites was from Bruce Lee, who famously told us:
“Be water.”
Those two simple words are a game-changer.
It’s a reminder to adapt and be fluid with whatever comes at you. Instead of paddling against the river, just go with it. Make the momentum work for you in a new direction. Over the years, I’ve found this one simple lesson brings true freedom.
Fluidity is only one of the crucial topics I write about in my book Building the Business of You: A System to Align Passion and Growth Potential Through Your Own Career Mash-Up. This book covers a range of reasons that people succeed best when they embrace their passions, broad strengths and talents instead of forcing themselves into a narrow box.
Are you ready to take control and find the right fit?
What choices are you struggling with?
What’s keeping you from working on what interests you most? Or what you do best?
Where are you directing your energy, and where can you shift that energy to find a better flow?
How can you stop fighting the current and learn to “be water”?
I’d love to hear what you most need help with. Let me know in the comments below or feel free to send me a message!
